 A country I would like to visit: Italy

I would like to visit Italy. Manily because I am of Italian descent and I would like to know more about my family background (since I don't know much about him). About Italy I know a few things, nothing very developed really, I think that I have a attraction for the culture in general, no only for the most extravagant or famous but too for minor aspects related to the daily life, with the idiosyncrasy and traditions.

I like the Italian Art, in special the art of Renaissance (especially Gian Lorenzo Bernini), not so much for their subject matter, but rather for their incredible craftsmanship, I would like see up close the perfection of theirs works, but I would really like to know why they came to do that, what motivated them and motivates them to this day to do things in such a high standard, what makes them do things so well done, like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. 

I would like live for a time in Italy, work and study in there, learn whatever, learn to way to make the things. Live in a small town (like a Corleone's town in The Godfather II) and be an apprentice in a trade.
